[b]Ariana Grande[/b] (born June 26, 1993) is an American singer and actress. She is the older half-sister to Frankie J. Grande began her career in the Broadway musical [i]13[/i], before landing the role of Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon television series [i]Victorious[/i] in 2009. After the show ended, Grande rose to prominence as a teen idol on her own spinoff, [i]Sam & Cat[/i]. She later signed a recording contract with [l=Republic Records], on which she released her debut studio album, [i][m=593431][/i] (2013), which debuted at number one on the U.S. [i]Billboard[/i] 200. Her latest album, [i][m=723794][/i] (2014), also reached number one in the United States, and contained the hit singles "Problem" and "Break Free". She returned to her music career with the release of her single, "Focus" (2015), and the announcement of her currently-controversial third studio album, [i]Dangerous Woman[/i], which will also be her first release under her new contract with [l=Virgin EMI Records] (a UK-based spin-off label of Republic Records).
